Outlook - How to move a calendar from one folder to another

  1. Make sure both folders are "openned" in Outlook.
  2. Choose the Folder List view:
  3. Do an Advanced Find on the Calendar that you wish to move the entries from.
  4. Choose Find Now to show all of the entries.
  5. Select all of the entries (highlight one then control-A)
  6. Right click on one entry | Move to Folder ...
  7. Choose the folder you want to move the entries to.
  8. Done.

Outlook - How to have it store files in an alternate location (to allow for easier backup)

  1. Install Outlook
  2. Install Microsoft Office Updates http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdate/default.aspx
  3. Run Outlook to have it generate it's base files, and to
  4. Setup your email account (remember to use More Settings ... to make it leave copies of messages on your mail server if you so desire.
  5. Move the files in C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook to the place you want them to be.
  6. Start outlook and you should see a dialog like the following:
  7. Ok the dialog and it will prompt you for the location of Outlook.pst
  8. Choose Outlook.pst at the place you moved it to.
  9. You will see a dialog like this:
  10. Exit Outlook and start it again, everything should be fine now.
  11. Place a short cut in C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook to the place you moved the Outlook files to (this makes it easier to manipulate data files there).
